Hey I'm trying to get some info on the band Libertine. Everywhere I go, all I find is CD's by a band called The Libertines. Now these guys look completely different than the picture of the band Libertine so I assume they are two separate projects? I have a American heartbreak/Libertine split disc and would like anything else they have put out. If anybody knows if they are still around and has any info or website address please let me know. thanks

I have the split disc, the full length (See You In The Next Life), and a release from this year of unreleased tracks called Slowdown. They also released an EP called Rise Above in '98.

Looks like there's copies of both their albums currently on ebay.

    Slowdown

Also, I know that allmusic.com has audio samples of each cd on their site.

The band is broken up. Their singer is now in a band called the Madison Strays. You can check them out at www.madisonstrays.com

btw, you were correct. This is a completely different band than The Libertines.

    Hope this is helpful.

apparently Libertine is not around anymore... I heard that their singer was playing drums in Tuuli for a while.
The Libertines is a totally different band, they are HUGE in Europe right now.

Laur, they are broke up. Like I said, he's now singing in the Madison Strays. Check out their link in my earlier post. Not really my cup of tea, but I'll survive. lol Didn't know that Tuuli was still around with the two band members going on to the Flairs.
